After reading the Street Talk reporting Richmond Interdepartmental Code Enforcements' appalling and brutal use of skunk odor stink bombs against our most needy, down-and-out residents seeking winter shelter in abandoned buildings (“City Police Use Stink Bombs to Fight Vagrants,” March 18), I was eventually relieved and happy to read Brent Baldwin's fantastic Arts & Culture article covering the terrific benefit honoring the former Cellar Door Club (“Duckie Redux,” March 18).
As a high-schooler back in those days, a lot of us teens were too young and alcohol-free in public to attend events at the Flood Zone. Brandy Wood's flashback of such times, '80s music and friendships really brought back a ton of memories. Hopefully the Fuzz will decide to allow clean air at the exciting DJ Rick Danger-hosted event. After all, proceeds will benefit our city's food bank. Food always tastes better unpoisoned.
