A new word had to be invented to describe playwright Ntozake Shange's "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf." An emotionally driven, fluid blend of music, dance and 20 original poems brought to life by nine women representing different shades of the rainbow, "Colored Girls" has not dimmed in the decades since its 1976 Broadway debut, around the time choreopoem entered the language. Directed by VCU professor Tawnya Pettiford-Wates and choreographed by Kabby Mitchell III, performances of "For Colored Girls" are Feb. 21-23 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. at the Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Ave. Tickets are $7-$18. 828-2695
