Acoustic Planet at Innsbrook

Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, Keller Williams and the Yonder Mountain String Band bring three distinct styles of acoustic roots music to Glen Allen Wednesday, Sept. 1. Rollin' on the River Party in Shockoe Slip

In celebration of the 21st annual Hog Rally and thousands of Harley-Davidson motorcycles passing through Richmond, a five-block area of Shockoe Slip will be closed off Saturday, Aug. 28, from 5-11 p.m. for the Rollin' on the River Party. The event features live music on four stages, offering bands like Copper Sails, Cedar Creek and Terry Garland. Admission is free. www.citycelebrations.org.



CAMfest at the Science Museum

Sunday, Aug. 29, the Science Museum throws off biology exhibits and IMAX shows in favor of live music, games and appearance by local celebrities from 1-8 p.m. Sponsored by the Giving Heart, The Community Awareness Music Festival, or CAMFest, offers a day of information booths, crafters and live performers, including Pat Dinizio of the Smithereens, to spread awareness of local nonprofit organizations.
