RVyAy! at Gallery5

May 28 and 29

At some point Richmond's Gallery5 stopped being just a former fire station that happened to house local art. It's become a significant hub for the city's happily struggling do-it-yourselfers, showcasing some of the best homegrown creativity around. Spanning two days, the popular gallery house is poised to host RVyAy! With free food courtesy of Ellwood Thompson's and Cous Cous, visitors may buy from a huge selection of records, comics and all kinds of vintage clothes, jewelry, art and dAccor accessories. Also featuring live music entertainment by the likes of DJ collective Cherry Bomb, one-man-band Gull, the No BS Brass Band and Ophelia, and the opportunity to donate to Books on Wheels and Gallery5, this could very well be one of the Richmond art community's best parties this side of First Fridays. Starting May 28 from 7-11 p.m. and continuing May 29 from noon-6 p.m. $2-$8.
