One of the great things about Halloween — besides the joys of a self-induced sugar coma and having an excuse to dress like an escaped asylum patient without judgmental spectators — is that it gives fear a night of repercussion-free fun. Taking full advantage of entertaining the inner tactician in all of us, Richmond abounds with all kinds of great haunts to spend your evening. Including Blood Lake's Haunted House and Creepy Hollow Scream Park (both Thursday-Sunday starting at 7:30 p.m.), and Shockoe Bottom's Eerie Night Ghost Tours, pictured, (Thursday-Saturday starting at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m.), there will be plenty of opportunities for pants-wetting creepiness. For those looking for more family friendly Halloween tricks and treats, check out Henricus Historical Park's Things That Go Bump in the Night on Oct. 22 and 23 from 5-9 p.m. (registration required) or the Wilton House Museum's Family Halloween Haunt from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 22. For a full list of times, dates, cost, and locations check the calendar for listings.
