Richmond Schools Lawsuit: Something to Consider

by

comment

In response to my column "Fantasy Camp," which in part points out the intentional failure of Richmond's elected officials to tell the truth about the true state of education in the city's schools, residents Ramon and Pam Pardue suggested that the only hope to save these "[p]oor, minority students or ... special needs children" from being burdened for life by this failure might be a lawsuit. They were "amazed" it had never been considered, much less filed. They got me thinking. It appears that such a suit would break new legal ground in Richmond, but not necessarily in other states. I thank them for raising the issue.
