RIFF also welcomes Irène as a 2017 special guest. Irène will be present for a Q&A following the premier of “Tales of Mexico.” She and singer-songwriter, Francis Jacob will perform songs from their latest album “En Bas De Chez Moi” at the Hofheimer building directly following the film premier at the Byrd Theatre. Irène has won international recognition working with Polish director Krzysztof Kieślowski, and was rewarded “Best Actress” at the Cannes Film Festival for her performance in “The Double Life of Veronique” (1991). Other credits include “The Secret Garden,” “US Marshals,” and more. "Tales of Mexico" (La Habitación) delivers eight distinctive stories, all taking place in the same single room, spanning the last century of Mexico. This space will witness the dreams, desires, disappointments and destinies of its residents, revealing an intimate human history of Mexico through the decades.
