The Richmond Ballet will make its international debut in London later in June when it performs at the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden, home to the Royal Ballet and the Royal Opera. Before the group heads overseas, the ballet will present a preview entitled, “Made in the USA: Traditions and Innovations.” The program includes “Valse Fantaisie,” a classical style tribute by George Balanchine; John Butler’s “After Eden,” a narrative of Adam and Eve’s exile; “Ershter Vals,” created for the company by award-winning Chinese-American choreographer Ma Cong; and “Swipe,” a classical-contemporary fusion by choreographer Val Caniparoli, set to an electric remix of Gabriel Prokofiev’s String Quartet No. 2. “Made in the USA: Traditions and Innovations” opens June 6 at the Richmond Ballet Studio Theatre at 6:30 p.m. and runs through June 9. $30-$40. richmondballet.com.
