Review Insulted Legacy of La Petite France

comment
Your review of La Petite France ("French Surprise," Food & Drink, Oct. 4) was a terrible slap in the face of honest, hardworking and outstanding people; I can only imagine that it makes it even harder for the new ownership to build on and improve on the gem of a reputation she inherited from former owners Paul and Marie Elbling.

Our family have been loyal and satisfied customers of La Petite France for over 30 years, and a recent dinner there confirmed that Ms. Nguyen is continuing the high standards of food and service we have enjoyed for decades. I have spoken with other longtime patrons, and we all are appalled at the anonymous allegations about the honesty and quality of food at La Petite France.

The Elblings, who have been generous supporters of area charities and who set the standard for excellence in fine dining in Richmond, deserve an apology for your shabby treatment of one of Richmond's finest institutions. Shame on you!
