Reverend Deadeye at the Playing Field

Thursday, April 1.

Raised by fundamentalist Christian missionaries who performed Pentecostal tent revivals near a Navajo reservation in Arizona, it's little wonder that spiritually runs heavily throughout the slide guitar gospel of Brent Burkart. It doesn't hurt that he also nearly died from a rattlesnake bite to the eye. Shouting about sin into a homemade, tin-can microphone, this one-man band brings the kind of soul-saving religion that seeks to find Jesus Christ in the bottom a whiskey bottle. Stomping a brimstone road toward redemption, Reverend Deadeye is set to play the Playing Field on Thursday, April 1, at 8 p.m. $6.
