City Councilwoman Reva Trammell will serve the Richmond Capital Region Taxicab Advisory Board as chairman of the multijurisdictional body.
Trammell, first appointed to the board in December, will lead the advisory body in developing recommendations for amending and administering taxicab rates and laws, identifying and recommending solutions to taxi-related issues and coordinating local law enforcement programs.
In addition to Richmond, other localities and groups represented on the board include Henrico, Chesterfield and Hanover counties, the Capital Region Airport Commission, the business community and the taxicab industry.
Trammell brings knowledge and an experienced back-seat viewpoint to her chairmanship on the taxi board. Re-elected to City Council in 2005, the 8th District councilwoman's two-term absence was precipitated in part by media reports of an alleged late-night patrol car liaison in 1998 with a Richmond police officer.
