Step into the lives of Virginians at war in “Rappahannock County,” a new music theater piece about life during the Civil War. The show, which premiered in April at the Virginia Arts Festival, commemorates the 150th anniversary of the start of the conflict and features songs inspired by real diaries, letters and personal stories. Projections of Civil War photography, illustrations and documents mixed with live actors on stage will show the hardships of all types of people in this moment that changed American history. “Rappahannock County” hits the University of Richmond’s Modlin Center for the Arts Sept. 13-15 at 7:30 p.m. $23-$45. 289-8980.
