What becomes of an '80s pop genius? You'll find some of them on the fringes of the music industry, creating soundtracks for commercials and television shows, but a few are still suiting up and getting in the game. Marshall Crenshaw is one of them. Best known for power-pop hits like "Someday, Someway" and "There She Goes Again," Crenshaw has released eight albums since the decade of big hair came to an end. Recently, Crenshaw wrote the title track to the comedic bio pic "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story." Unlike the moviegoers who suffered that flop, the audience at Ashland Coffee & Tea Jan. 17 at 8 p.m. will have a good opportunity to witness a quality performance. $18-$23. 798-1702.
