Pig Destroyer, Iron Reagan, Mutilation Rites and Burn/Ward at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery

Friday, April 17

With a name like Pig Destroyer, few people will wonder if the Alexandria-based grind-core band sounds like Katy Perry. It doesn’t. The group is the antithesis of corporate pop, playing an all-hands-on-deck blitzkrieg of disruptive mathematical metal precisions. Richmond’s Iron Reagan is more shotgun blast than sharp shooter with its thrash hardcore. Like Pig Destroyer, attention to detail is the name of game, but Iron Reagan is less parochial in its speedy, fun-first explosions. On April 17, the two groups bring their internationally acclaimed, regionally defined physical releases to Hardywood Park Craft Brewery. Joining them will be Brooklyn-based, black metal trio Mutilation Rites, and the pulverizing punk of Richmond’s Burn/Ward. Doors for the all-ages free-for-all open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $13. hardywood.com.
