Michael Golden at the Edgar Allan Poe Museum

Comics artist Michael Golden has worked at smaller companies such as Image and Topps and industry giants DC and Marvel. This week he visits the Poe Museum to see the exhibition of his classic illustrations for “The Tell-Tale Heart” and to lecture about his career in illustration and the art of storytelling. His illustrations for the museum’s exhibit “Still Beating: ‘The Tell-Tale Heart’ Turns 170,” was printed in Marvel Classics No. 28 in 1977, and is among his earliest published work. During the course of his career, Golden provided the art for such comics as “G.I. Joe,” “The Adventures of Superman,” “Batman” and “The Micronauts.” He’s also co-creator of the X-Men character Rogue as well as Bucky O’Hare and the Jackie Chan-inspired character, Spartan X, and has served as an editor at DC Comics and senior art director at Marvel Comics.
