“King John” at St. Catherine’s School

Thursday, Sept. 20 through Oct. 14

Shakespeare’s tale of the tragic life and death of John, king of England, comes to life with elements of steam punk, goth and kabuki theater along with fast-moving action and political intrigue. When Richard the Lionheart dies, the ensuing struggle over John’s right to the throne leads to betrayal, murder accusations and war between England and France. Jan Powell, director of Richmond Shakespeare’s critically acclaimed “Macbeth,” directs this production. “King John” opens at the McVey Theatre at St. Catherine’s School on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 8 p.m. and runs through Oct. 14. $7-$22.
