There’s no denying that Everclear’s Northwestern grunge-punk style helped it make it big in the mid- to late 1990s. With the early success of singles such as “Santa Monica,” the band, led by frontman Art Alexakis, rose to platinum status with its 1995 album “Sparkle and Fade.” But it wasn’t until 1997’s “So Much for the Afterglow” that the band shot into rock stardom thanks to hits such as “I Will Buy You a New Life” and “Father of Mine.” In the late 2000s, Everclear reformed and expanded with Alexakis remaining as the only original member. The group went on to release “Welcome to the Drama Club.” In 2012, the band released “Invisible Stars,” its first album in six years. Everclear performs at Innsbrook After Hours along with other ‘90s mainstays Live, Filter and Sponge on Wednesday, June 5, at 5 p.m. $12-$35. innsbrookafterhours.com.
