Despite the best attempts by his female audience, you get the impression that coaxing Dierks Bentley out of a pair of jeans is a severe effort in futility. Since his self-titled debut in 2003, the Nashville-based songwriter has used his grounded casualness to become one of the biggest names in country music. Influenced by the ramblin', ruggedly sensitive styles of Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings, Bentley's rebelled allusions have made him an undeniable crossover success. Sure to perform such hits as “What Was I Thinkin'” and “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go),” Bentley is scheduled to play the National in support of his latest album, “Feel That Fire,” on Tuesday, May 18, at 7 p.m., $26-$31.
