A true follower of such Sun Studios recording artists as Elvis Presley, and more importantly Roy Orbison, songwriter Chris Isaak is rooted well in the romantic emoting of old-school rockabilly. Most famously recognized for the slithering lust of “Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing” and eerie, star-gazing ballad “Wicked Game,” Isaak constantly has been a man out of place and time, but is somehow all the more respected for his stylish traditionalism. Performing with fellow artist Marc Broussard as well as the Waybacks, Isaak is scheduled to sing at a benefit show called Music for Massey. Proceeds go to the Pediatric Cancer Research Endowment Fund for the Department of Pediatrics at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and the university's Massey Cancer Center. The performance is at Innsbrook Pavilion on Sunday, July 25 at 3 p.m. $25-$50.
