Second Place: Black Girls
Third Place: Carbon Leaf
For two years now, Rosie Soul and the Rock and Roll Cowboys have nabbed the top spot as voters' favorite rock band. While they mainly play covers, Rosie and company released their first original studio single, "Crimson Society," in September, and say they have more songs on the way. The devilish frontwoman and her band perform high-energy renditions of classic rock favorites and contemporary tunes. The glam-rocking Black Girls, making waves across the city in part because of their critically hailed debut album, "Hell Dragon," and touring with the Head and the Heart, take second place. And Carbon Leaf, scheduled to play Groovin in the Garden this summer, is an indie-folk mainstay with Barry Privett at the helm.
