B.B. King at Innsbrook After Hours

Wednesday, July 17. 5 p.m.

  • Keven Westenberg
Universally hailed as the reigning king of blues, B.B. King has influenced many of today’s contemporary bluesmen. Between 1951 and 1985, King had 74 songs hit Billboard’s R&B charts, and was one of the few blues artists with a major pop hit — the 1970 smash “The Thrill Is Gone.” While continuing his solo career, King has worked with numerous musicians including Eric Clapton and U2. With 17 Grammy awards to his name and ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time, King has no plans to slow down, releasing a box set of songs in the past year that collects his 60 years of material entitled “Ladies and Gentlemen … Mr. B.B. King.” B.B. King performs at Innsbrook After Hours on Wednesday, July 17, at 5 p.m. $30-$55.
