Riding the success of its self-titled platinum debut and the double platinum “Move Along,” pop-rock band the All-American Rejects became international sensations because of their third album, “When the World Comes Down,” and most notably their hit single “Gives You Hell.” Finding themselves changed by the rush of fame, the Rejects took time off and began writing new material in remote locations, far from the lights of celebrity. The result is the new album, “Kids in the Street,” a musically honest portrayal of the group’s highs and lows, exploring themes of regret, melancholy and indulgences. With hope and a new outlook on life, the All-American Rejects are ready to rejoin the world when they perform at the National on Tuesday, May 1, at 7 p.m. $25-$28. 612-1900.
