An anchor on South 14th Street since 1998, the 50,000-square-foot La Différence is downtown’s largest retail store. It offers contemporary and midcentury modern furniture and accessories for those who need something other than those longtime Virginia favorites, Chippendale or colonial revival. It’s also more convenient than Ikea. Recently, the store also opened a smaller 7,000-square-foot outlet in Short Pump.
