“Thanks to my incredible band mates, we’ve been able to create a landscape that presents lyrics in a way that doesn’t mask them,” Low Branches singer Christina Gleixner says. “That’s one of the most important things for me as a songwriter. I need the lyrics and the music to be hand in glove, to work with and for each other, never against each other.” Taken from “100 Years Old,” the group’s debut full-length, “A Coiled Rope Will Unwind” is another gorgeous Low Branches effort that sets brushed beats and honey-drenched strings into unhurried motion alongside Gleixner’s delicate but commanding vocals. The band — Gleixner, Josh Quarles and Matt Klimas — is comfortable penning earnest, indie-folk songs that consume the senses. Tethered to a beautiful but fragile world of silhouettes and broken light, this delicate tone poem is a prime example of what they do best. lowbranches.com.
