There’s an old adage about screenwriters being useless on movie sets. The same can be said about the folks who spearheaded the multimillion-dollar fundraising effort to transform the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts from an also-ran into a world-class arts center (Picasso wouldn’t have come without it). Once the doors opened to the public and the hoopla subsided, Pam Reynolds — a former president of the board of trustees — and her team naturally faded into the background. Reynolds, though, isn’t much for staying in the background — remember her dress made entirely of paper? The colorful leader will be back soon enough.
