With the economic recovery stumbling, the usually opaque decisions the Federal Reserve makes on interest rates are critically important ones. Jeffrey Lacker, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, has been quoted on economics by media as diverse as Bloomberg and Japan's Nikkei newspapers. As a nonvoting member of the Fed's influential Open Markets Committee, Lacker has a reputation for clarity. Otherwise, he's busy with the Richmond Jewish Foundation, Junior Achievement and Venture Richmond.
