10. Kepone, “Dickie Boys” 2:08

Named after the carcinogenic insecticide, Kepone — Michael Bishop, Tim Harriss and Ed Trask — set the standard for Richmond rocking around the turn of the ’90s, shining brightly but briefly. Now reformed for a limited time, Kepone will appear at Style’s Shadrock Music Festival on Brown’s Island on Saturday, April 28, and we couldn’t be prouder to feature one of its classic songs, “Dickie Boys,” a cantankerous jewel from the group’s 1989 debut, “Ugly Dance.” This two-minute pipe bomb is a snarling critique of hedonism, a beautiful piece of smartass guitar noise that illustrates exactly why this combo’s music endures. The cut features the original drummer, Seth Harris.
